Nehemiah 1: A Grown Man Cried

Nehemiah was a grown man living nearly 100 years after the Jews had been allowed to go back to their homeland. He was living in a key city of the Persian Empire. The book begins with a report he was given regarding the terrible conditions in his homeland of Judah. There was no reason for things to be so bad, so this report caused him to be in grief—he wept and mourned for a long time.
