Exodus 10: I Have Sinned

All of us sin by missing the mark that God has set up before us. Pharaoh was no exception. In verse 16, he confesses that he had done so and even asks for forgiveness. Whether or not he was sincere, I do not know. Giving him the benefit of the doubt (which is what I want people to do for me)—he almost immediately changed, as is clear from the statement that the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart. The hardening of his heart by Jehovah is a part of the principle of sowing and reaping. Pharaoh sowed sin, he reaped a hardening heart. When I sin, I need to admit it, gain forgiveness, and let grace keep my heart soft.
