Genesis 43: Another Reunion
This reunion was with his full brother, Benjamin. There are many situations in life where we want and need to have a closeness with our closest relatives. Parents, brothers and sisters, children—all have so much to offer. A long-lost brother—there are stories about this every day. How often had Joseph thought about Benjamin? In naming Manasseh (“forget”), Joseph showed that he did not dwell on the evil separation in which he was living because of his other brothers. But he did not forget that he had brothers—including one who was no part of the evil at all. And what a reunion Joseph (God!) set up. Genesis is definitely the “stuff” of life!
