Genesis 36: Esau--Red--Edom

His is a really puzzling story. He profaned his birthright, he married wrong, he was treated with incredible deceitfulness by his mother and brother, he was a peacemaker with his brother, and he seems to develop better than we might have thought. But here come his descendants—and oh how they learned to hate Jacob all through the Old Testament—even to the Herodian family (yes, they were Edomites—Idumeans) in the New Testament.
