Genesis 46: God Is Working--Remember Genesis 12? And 15? And...?

As Israel (Jacob) begins his journey to Egypt, the God of his father speaks to him about the things He began revealing to Abraham. In the midst of all of the human activity of these four generations, God was working. He worked through their obedience, in spite of their disobediences and in view of the need of the human race—all to keep His promise of bringing the Redeemer to earth. Nothing would keep Him from keeping this promise. So He renews it in this reading.
