Genesis 33: Reunion
Two decades have passed since Jacob and Esau were together. This separation was, simply put, due to sin. What would happen when they met again? Surprise, surprise—the brother who had done wrong (Jacob/Israel) was “scared stiff”—even after twenty years. And Esau—the brother who was wronged—displayed a spirit that shows he had “let it go” a long time ago. Jacob had not asked for forgiveness, but Esau’s spirit was full of forgiveness, so the reunion was easy for him. Jacob learned his lesson—will we learn our lesson?
