Genesis 38: Prostitution Is Prostitution

And you will get caught. There are hundreds of situations in the Bible where we would like to ask the person, “What were you thinking?” But isn’t that true of ourselves, too? Isn’t it better to actually be thinking about the presence of God, the word of God, the example of Jesus, the consequences of our sins—isn’t it better to THINK? Judah, the brother through whom Christ came, prostitutes himself with his daughter-in-law. But the “with whom” he did this isn’t really the point, since prostitution is sin.
