Exodus 8: Hardening of the Heart

This subject is mentioned nineteen times in Exodus. It always refers to a spiritual condition that was getting worse. The events hardened Pharaoh’s heart, he hardened his heart, and the Lord hardened it. All of these things were in connection with his own choice to view and then to reject the ways of Jehovah. The same events soften other hearts (such as yours), because that is in fact what they are designed to do. God will harden or soften your heart, too—as soon as you decide what you are going to do with the truth about Him.
