Genesis 42: How Far Was It?

The southern part of Canaan was (is) about 200 miles from Egypt. As far as we know, Joseph never knew why his father did not come to find him—even then, 200 miles was not too far to look for such a favored son. But Joseph did not let any of the unknowns turn him into a bitter, unforgiving boy or man. He just kept on serving God, which prepared him to meet his brothers again with no bitterness in his soul.
