Genesis 35: One of Us Will Die First

Rachel, Jacob’s beloved wife, died as a result of childbirth while the family was on the way home to Canaan. Two people who have a God-honoring marriage do so “until death do us part.” Rarely do they die together. One will die first and the other will be left behind. Parting is such sweet sorrow—we’ll meet on the other side—I have precious memories—a thousand appropriate sayings have been connected with this event. And everyone of them can help until we are best friends again—in heaven.
